You must have known that Google launched the developer’s preview of its Android M operating system in its annual I/O conference. 1. Fingerprint sensor support
You would know that Apple’s operating system iOS already comes with fingerprint sensor but till now this feature was not available in Android operating system. However, some Android phones such as Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 by-default come with fingerprint sensor. But, now Google launched Android M operating system with fingerprint sensor so there are lots of chances to have this feature in low budget Android phones too.
2. Android Pay for mobile payments
With this new version of Android operating system Google added its own mobile payment system – the Android Pay. You might think that Google copied it from Apple Pay but truly Android Pay has much more new and different from Apple Pay. However, just like as Apple Pay, the Android Pay also work with Near Field Communications (NFC). It means it will work for all the portals that work on NFC.
3. The all new “Now on Tap” search
This is one of the major features Google added in Android M 6.0 operating system. In fact, this is the improved form of Android’s search system (Google Now). It works within any app and automatically searches the context present on the screen by just long pressing the home button. This is very commendable feature of Android M.
4. Android M supports USB C ports
Apple Macbook has already the feature of reversible USB C ports and now Google also came its new Android M with USB C ports support feature. Now, all the devices with Android M operating system will support reversible USB C ports.
5. App permissions
App permissions are revamped in Android M operating system. App permissions means, popups will flash in the right context and let users grant permissions for specific features. In Android M OS, it is revamped that how apps handle permissions, with apps now prompting requests for permissions when running.
Additionally, users can manage all their app permissions in settings. The company has advised developers to design their apps in a way that they prompt permission requests in context, and even account for permissions that are not granted.
6. Improvement in battery life
With the new update to Android operating system, Google enhanced the battery life too. Google claimed that battery life of Android M smartphones will be better than ever before. Additionally, the fast charging feature will also help you get rid of battery issues.
