If you’re looking for this guide, you would already know what are OG Meta Tags. Still, for those who don’t know about it, let me explain. OG (Open Graph) Meta Tags are the set of rules that are used to integrate any web page into the social graph.
In very simple words, if somebody wants to create different Meta Data (Title and Description) for search engine and social media, the Open Graph protocol is used.
Open graph protocol is a set of tags that are used to make different meta data for social media and search engines. To manually add open graph protocol in your web page, the following OG Meta Tags can be used:
<meta property=”og:title” content=""/>
<meta property=”og:type” content=""/>
<meta property=”og:url” content=""/>
<meta property=”og:image” content=""/>
<meta property=”fb:admins” content=""/>
<meta property=”og:site_name” content=""/>
<meta property=”og:description” content=""/>
But, if you’re running a WordPress blog, it comes very, very easier to add open graph protocol to your web page. However WordPress doesn’t have any such kind of standalone feature but you can do so with the help of a SEO plugin. Two of the most popular WordPress SEO plugins All in One SEO Pack and SEO By Yoast provide the feature to enable OG meta tags for your webpage.
As I use All in One SEO Pack, so first of all I will tell you how you can enable OG meta tags in All in One SEO Pack WordPress plugin. And later I will also give you hint for SEO by Yoast.
