[Published on: Jul 1, 2014] I know today nobody log in to Google’s Orkut but do you remember the time when Orkut was only the social network where everybody entered their presence. Now due to the discontinued medium of social connectivity and sharing, Google decided to shut it down on 30th September 2014.
In fact, Orkut was the first invasion by Google in social networking and it really succeed to make multiple lives online and told the people that what social networking is.
But after the great popularity of Facebook and Twitter, Orkut users are getting slow down and attracted toward Facebook and Twitter.

Another great reason of shutting down Orkut is YouTube, Google+ and Blogger. You might be thinking that these are the Google’s services, then how can they impact on Orkut. These services of Google are becoming popular in every corner of the world and outpaced the growth of Orkut too.
According to the blog post on Official Orkut Blog, Google has decided to bid Orkut Farewell and named it “Tchau”. After shutting down the Orkut, Google’s team will be able to focus its more energy and resources for making these other services as amazing as possible for people who uses them.
A relieving thing that Google announced for the existing users of Orkut will not be impacted until 30 September 2014. People can export their profile data, community posts and photos using Google Takeout (available until September 2016).

According to the blog post, Orkut team is preserving an archive of all public communities, which will be available online starting September 30, 2014. If you don’t want your posts or name to be included in the community archive, you can remove Orkut permanently from your Google account.
