There is no doubt that HostGator is the top web hosting company and even I mentioned it in my list of top hosting companies for Indians. So, I just wanna tell you guys that don’t consider this article as a bad review of HostGator in fact, I just want to share a surprising experience of mine that why I moved out from HostGator.in to other hosting company to host allusefulinfo.com.
However, HostGator is my favorite web hosting company due to many reasons and one of the best reasons is their fantastic support via variety of options such as Phone Support (Toll-Free), Live Chat, Email etc. But, you might be thinking that what the problem I faced that’s why I changed the hosting company. Let me tell you about everything that why I moved out from HostGator.
As of 19th December 2014, I received an email from HostGator that they are migrating the HostGator.in customer account to a new platform. According to mail, this migration was scheduled to start on December 22nd at 6PM IST and will be completed by December 23rd, 2014 at 2AM IST. So, in that meantime they were also unable to provide support to customers however they also clarified that no hosted site on HostGator will be affected with this migration.
But, as the migration started, my site started throwing the error establishing database connection again and again. So, I tried to find the issue but there was everything fine on my side.
So, after the migration finished, I tried to contact the support but after completing migration of 2 to 3 days I could contact the support and they gave me lots reasons for this error to be occurred such as number of visitors increased, optimize database etc. My database was fully optimized and so I upgraded my VPS server to the higher level so that it can deal with the number of visitors on my site.
But, still problem was not solved, and now I was started getting server down errors along with establishing database connection errors. It was really very frustrating for me because visitors on my site were affecting drastically. So, I further contacted the HostGator.in support and told them about the error I often receive but they told me that there is no issue with their servers and everything in fine.
So, when they were unable to find out the problem, I thought to move out from HostGator to other hosting company and without waiting for a second, I did the same.
However, my site is now working fine after moving out from HostGator but still I’m missing the unforgettable support of HostGator by means of options.
