Government of Telangana state recently launched its RTA (Roads & Transport Authority) application named RTA m-Wallet to digitally store all the documents issued by the transport department.
This digital wallet lets you store your RC (Registration Certificate), Driving Licence and Vehicle Documents.
According to an official release, the app enables owners and drivers of vehicles to store their documents issued by the Transport Department in digital form, relieving the citizens from carrying physical documents and preventing from loss or misplacement.
So, motorists can now show ‘RTA m-Wallet’ on their smart phones to police or Road Transport Authority (RTA) authorities during checking.

This newly launched RTA m-Wallet application of Telangana state government is available on Google Play Store for Android users.
Once you installed RTA m-Wallet app in your smartphone, it will ask you to register first or sign in if you’re already registered to the app.
After signing in to your account, you can store your Registration Certificate and Driving Licence inside the app very easily.
You don’t actually need to upload your camera-captured image of your documents, instead on the base of your Registration Number, Chassis Number, Driving Licence Number & Date of Birth, the app will automatically find your document and store in your account.
It’s beneficial for both public and government because with this digital m-Wallet app nobody need to keep the physical documents and government officers will have a surety that every individual with documents in m-Wallet app keeps the original documents as they’re recognized and originally generated by the government.

This is really a great step of Telangana govt. I think govt of other states too should initiate something like this.
