With this article, you will learn that what kind of mistakes you make while writing a blog post and what search engine factors you should take care of. I sure, if you follow these tips correctly and sincerely, your articles should start ranking in search engines.
The Best Tips for Writing SEO Friendly Content
1. Write Useful, Quality, and Engaging Content
The first thing you all should know that writing quality content is the key to rank higher in search engines. If you don’t write quality content and use SEO tactics to rank higher, remember search engines are much smarter than you. So, always write quality and engaging content. Just write for your visitors and if your visitors will like your writing, search engines will automatically do.
2. What is the Content-Length of your Article?
How many words of article you mostly write? However, short and to the point articles and tips, visitors always love but still, if you don’t explain it enough, your visitors and search engines may disappoint you. Also, you would know that many search engines may consider content of fewer than 300 words as low-quality content. So, always try to include more than 300 words in each of your blog posts.
3. Be Careful about Keyword Density
Well, nowadays, it’s not that important as compared to the time it used to be but, keyword density is still something Google and other search engines use to determine the topic of a webpage. But going overboard can hurt you. If you’re targeting your post for a keyword, then it is a very essential thing to use the keywords in your article very wisely.
Neither overboard your content with lots of keywords nor a very few. I consider using 1 to 2% of keyword density. So in an article of 300 words, you should mention your keywords 3 to 6 times.
4. Focus on the Quality and Quantity of Outbound Links
It’s really true that giving too many do-follow links to low or zero PR websites can hurt your rankings. So, you should be careful about it while writing a blog post. Many SEOs think that linking out to authority sites helps to send authority signals to Google. Don’t hesitate in linking to authority or high PR sites.
5. Keep the URL Length Short
Search Engine Journal and many other SEO firms note that excessively long URLs may hurt search visibility. And I also experienced this fact on my own site.
6. Keywords in the URL may Help Sometimes
It is sometimes helpful but not always. But if the keyword is present in the URL, it may send a good relevancy signal to Google for ranking your website. So, I recommend you try inserting keywords in your URL to improve the search visibility of the article for that keyword.
7. Use Paragraphs and Headings that Make Sense
Everybody uses paragraphs and maybe headings too, but how many of you use paragraphs and headings that make sense. I mean, whenever you change the paragraph there should be a reason for that. Every paragraph should have a main idea and subject. Many people I see that they causelessly change paragraphs anywhere in the whole story. It’s wrong. You should ask yourself that what is the main idea of each paragraph.
Moreover, if you don’t use headings in your blog posts, then you should because both the search engines and visitors love to read the content heading-wise so that it can be understood easily.
8. Optimize Every Image Uploaded in the Post
Do you describe your images well enough for article uploading in your article? If you don’t, then you must. You would know that there is high amount of search volume on the Google Image search cover along with the web and video search. So, optimize your images for better search engine ranking by adding title tag, alt tag, and description tag.
9. Don’t forget to Link to Your Previous Articles
Internal linking is one of the most important factors to be considered for writing SEO-friendly content. While creating a new blog post, don’t forget to link to your previous articles but make sure that linking must be relevant. Internal linking is important because it reduces the bounce rate and you know the lower bounce rate means higher pageviews and when people will spend more time on your site, automatically your search engine rankings will improve.
10. Try to Increase Number of Comments on Each Post
However it’s not in your hand, but believe me, it’s really another important thing to rank your content higher in search engines. So, write the content in such a manner that people will like to comment on that. You can also ask your, visitors, to get their feedback about that whole content via the comments box and always give a reply to their comments. Friends, admit that an increasing number of relevant comments make the content SEO friendly and therefore try to get more and more comments from your visitors.
