Apple’s new iOS 9 operating system is now available for all the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch modes as an upgrade to its predecessor iOS 8.
iOS 9 a free software update for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini and iPod touch fifth-generation. Some features may not be available across all regions or languages.
According to Apple, the iOS 9 came out with lots of great features and new enhancements such as new multitasking features, better performance of Siri, enhanced battery life, security, and many more.
So, look at the new enhancements in Apple’s iOS 9 software update:
1. Updated Notes app with great features
With the new updated Notes app in iOS 9 users will be able to make a checklist of to-dos and add a photo, map, and link to the note, and will even be able to draw sketch through the finger.
Now, users will also be able to add things to the note from whatever app they’re in. Just need to tap the Share button in Safari, Maps, and lots of other apps to save attachments — maps, links, Pages documents, and more — to a new or existing note.
Notes work with iCloud so you can access your notes no matter which device you’re using. In means, it will be possible now to create a shopping list on your Mac and then tick off items at the shop on your iPhone. All your changes are updated in real-time.
2. Now get public transport information with Maps
Now you can use public transport with Maps as your guide. In selected cities around the world, a new Transport view shows you lines and stations for the metro, buses, trains, and ferries on the map.
Transport is customized for each city, where available — so you’ll easily recognize signs and be able to pinpoint the nearest metro station entrance or bus stop. You can even ask Siri for public transport directions.
And since Maps is also an OS X app, you can plan a trip on your Mac and follow the route on your iPhone or Apple Watch when you’re on the go.
3. The new iCloud Drive app
The iOS 9 software also comes with a built-in a new iCloud Drive app which lets you access any file you save to iCloud from just one place — your Home screen.
It’s now become easier to find the file you’re looking for, just by searching inside the app. You can browse all your files by date, name or any tags you added on your Mac. You can also preview and organize your files without leaving the app.
You get the 5 GB of free iCloud storage to store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and any other kind of document in iCloud. Other storage plans start at a very low cost.
4. Powerful new features to Mail
iOS 9 brings powerful new features to its Mail app, so you can do more straight from your iOS device — and with a little flair.
Markup lets you add drawings, comments or a signature to attached photos and documents. You can easily attach any files you have stored in your iCloud Drive.
And new search options help you find the email you’re looking for faster by narrowing down results based on subject, sender, recipient, or a combination of criteria.
5. Great multitasking features
With great multitasking features, iOS 9 just made your iPad a perfect device for work as well as for play. Whether you are creating incredible designs or powerful presentations, building fun slideshows, or video chatting with loved ones now you can make even better use of its large screen to do two of those things — at the same time.
Now you can open a second app without leaving the one you’re in. So you can quickly browse the web, respond to a text message or jot something down in a note, then slide that app away and get back to the one you were using before.
Other than this, the multitasking feature came with too many options such as Split View to open and use two apps at the same time, Picture in the picture to keep watching the video at the same time you’re doing another task such as replying mail, etc.
And even more features…
So, that’s not all, iOS 9 came with too many great features and new enhancements that users will surely appreciate every day.
Many of its new features I didn’t mention in this post such as QuickType, Longer battery life, Android migration, improved security, etc. but no need to worry if you want to read about all of its new features, just go to Apple’s official website and read about all the new features and enhancements in iOS 9.
