We can’t say which one is better because in some cases tablets are better than laptops and in other cases, laptops are better. The differences between laptops and tablets are given in the below lines.

Tablet

Tablet vs Smartphone

Tables are just simple mobile computers. They come with a touch screen instead of a mouse. Tablets use a virtual hide-able keyboard which is generally used for typing. It lies between smartphone and laptop in size which is approximately 7 inches diagonally. Tablets can be connected to a physical keyboard and input devices.

Laptop

Business vs Personal laptops

Laptops are personal computers, which are portable too. Most of the components are the same as desktop computers such as the keyboard, display, etc. But, instead of a mouse, laptops come with a touchpad. Just like smartphones and tablets, laptops come with a chargeable battery. Most modern laptops come with a built-in webcam. As compared to desktop computers, laptops are generally lightweight and portable.

Difference Between Tablets And Laptops

If you are a traveler and looking to buy a portable and lightweight gadget, the tablet can be the perfect gadget for you. But, if you need a bigger screen size for work purposes, then you can prefer a laptop over tablet. The first and foremost thing is the size of both gadgets. Tablets are thin and lightweight gadgets. They are convenient portable mobile computers in comparison to laptops. And, if you don’t want to carry your laptop bag throughout the day, a tablet proves to be far better than a laptop.

Another thing in which a tablet is better than a laptop is that while traveling in a taxi or an airplane, it isn’t easy to work on the laptop. For operating a laptop on the way, you have to find a flat surface to place it. Also, you’ll need enough area to open the lid. But on a tablet, you have to just turn it on and use it wherever you are, just like a smartphone.

The tablets are better than laptops in the case of battery life. Most tablet’s battery life is far better than that of laptops.

Another feature of a tablet that makes it better than a laptop is that you can easily capture photos and record videos from the tablet. Capturing a photo and video recording is not that handy with laptops.

In some aspects, laptops have proved themselves better than tablets. Physical keyboards have always proved that they are better than the virtual keyboards. As we know virtual keyboards are more sensitive than the physical keyboards. But on a physical keyboard, you can type faster along with time which is not easily possible with a touch screen tablet.

Laptops are far better than tablets in the case of storage capacity. Laptops generally come with a storage capacity of at least 250GB that goes up to 1TB or beyond. Companies launch tablets with a storage capacity of 64GB/128GB/256GB and some tablets come with even more storage.
