Samsonite introduced a Track&Go Bluetooth beacon device that can be built into Samsonite suitcases, allowing users to easily and privately track their luggage before getting hit by any malicious third party.
This Bluetooth beacon device is designed and manufactured by Accent Systems, and will be built into the Track&Go suitcase.
So, with the help of this beacon Bluetooth device built into your Samsonite suitcase, it will be very easy to quickly recover your luggage without taking the risk of being identified by malicious third parties.
How Does Track&Go Technology Work?
This Bluetooth device is a low-energy beacon built into the Samsonite suitcase which uses the new open Eddystone frame type, the Ephemeral Identifier (EID), recently released by Google.
To start using this Track&GO technology all you need to do is register as the owner of the luggage on the Travlr app by Samsonite, allowing it to start sending encrypted and rotating IDs.
The Travlr by Samsonite app was launched in September 2015 to offer flight tracking, tips, and reminders when traveling.
The new Track&Go feature will be built into the existing app allowing users to easily check the location of the suitcase within a distance of 70 meters, and also be notified if it is being moved closer or further away from the user.
When the suitcase goes missing, the owner can easily flag it as lost in the app. Once flagged as ‘lost’, the Travlr by Samsonite app leverages its user base to help the suitcase’s owner find it.
How to Get the Samsonite Track&Go Suitcase?
Samsonite suitcases can be purchased from its official online store. However for now the Track&Go suitcase is not available in the store.
Samsonite aims to launch the first suitcases featuring the Track&Go solution in the European market at the end of 2016, followed by other international markets.
