Turn Off/On Automatic System Updates in Android
Whether you want to turn off or on automatic software updates on your Android smartphone, you can easily do so through Settings. See the steps below to enable or disable automatic updates on your Android smartphone:
- Open the Settings app and navigate to the Software Update / System Update option out there.
- Just turn off or on the “Auto download under WiFi” option to disable or enable the automatic updates.
If you want to disable or enable automatic updates for system apps, you can change this setting from the Accessibility option. All you need to go to Settings > Accessibility > System apps auto-update over Wi-Fi and turn on/off the System apps auto-update option.
Turn On/Off Automatic Updates Using Developer Mode
If Developer Mode is already enabled in your Android smartphone, you should cross-check the setting for automatic system updates inside the Developer Options. It’s possible that the automatic system updates are enabled/disabled in Developer Options. So, to tweak the automatic system update setting in Developer options, follow the steps below:
- Make sure the Developer Mode is enabled on your Android phone.
- Now go to Settings and scroll down to the Developer Options.
- Turn On or Off the “Automatic system updates” option from the Developer options.
