I always recommend keeping the automatic system updates enabled whether you’re using Android or any other operating system. Still, for any reason, if you want to stop your Android phone from updating automatically, you can simply turn off the automatic system updates from your Android phone’s settings.

Whether you want to turn off or on automatic software updates on your Android smartphone, you can easily do so through Settings. See the steps below to enable or disable automatic updates on your Android smartphone:

  • Open the Settings app and navigate to the Software Update / System Update option out there.
  • Just turn off or on the “Auto download under WiFi” option to disable or enable the automatic updates.
