Buying a TV

We don’t feel more difficulty in buying a thing that we often buy or sell such as clothes, watches, and gadgets like tablets, smartphones, etc., still I already published some money-saving tips for buying a smartphone, but buying a television may be a difficult task for everyone as we sometimes in a long time buy TVs, not so often. So, it is possible that you may not have great knowledge of buying a perfect TV for you and that’s why here I produced a complete and very helpful TV buying guide, especially for those who are recently going buy television online.

From cheap TVs for a bedroom or study to large-screen sets that give you a cinema-like experience in your living room, there are hundreds of TVs available to buy. Here in this article, I came up with 7 very important things you need to know before you buy a TV.

Smart TV/3D TV/4K TV

Smart TV is an Internet-connected television, that allows you to get great online services, such as catch-up TV, social networking, and film streaming, on your television. However, smart TVs may be slightly costlier as compared to non-smart TVs.

3D TVs are fairly very common and I hope you all would know about them, in fact, watch your TV shows and movies in a 3-dimensional view. 3D is a decent feature to have on your television and you won’t have to spend more to get it.

Most people now have high-definition televisions in their homes, but for anyone wishing to go that one step further, TVs with 4K – or ultra-high-definition (Ultra HD) – picture quality are now available to buy. But, 4K TVs may be higher in cost.

What is my budget?

This is a very important question that arises every time you go to buy any expensive thing such as a smartphone, tablet, or television. If you are planning to buy a new TV, then the first thing you should have in mind is your budget. What is your budget or how much you’re willing to spend as long as you increase your budget, features will automatically increase but if you’ve very little budget then it is possible that you had a compromise for features.

TV prices can start at under $100 but go into the tens of thousands for huge screen models. Prices can even vary within the same screen size; for example, I’ve seen 32-inch TVs costing under $200 and ones priced at over $2,000.

A good quality 40-inch or 42-inch TV will typically cost between $400-700, but you’ll generally have to pay a bit more if you want a bigger screen of 50 or 55 inches.

But, if your budget is as low as $150-200, you may find televisions with screen sizes near 32-inch or lower. So, first of all, decide your budget before you hit shops or online retailers, and always try to get the best possible price by comparing more than 2 shops or online retailers.

Don’t be confused in selecting a TV size

What size TV should I buy? It may be a great question for you while planning to buy a television as there are lots of TV sizes available in the market. But, smart people won’t waste their time in selecting a TV size because you can choose a TV size based on two factors – the size of the room and your budget.

If are putting a television in your little living room, you should choose a medium size TV and luckily it will also meet your budget. Don’t hesitate or be confused in selecting a small-size television because trust me bigger doesn’t always mean better.

In my surroundings, 50% of people have 32-inch or lower size televisions, 40% of people have a near 42-inch TV, and the remaining 10% own a near 55-inch TV. Hence, I can say that bigger doesn’t always mean better, in fact, choose the size according to your condition and by implying the above-mentioned two factors – room size and your budget.

Which will be the best television for me?

You would also be asking a question to yourself what type of TV should I buy, there are different types of TVs available in the market such as HD-Ready TVs, Full HD TVs, HD-Ready 1080.

Mostly all the televisions come with the built-in Freeview Tuner but a Freeview HD Tuner is preferable (if your budget is not that little) as you will be able to watch subscription-free HD channels, such as BBC One HD and ITV HD, without needing additional equipment.

Which TV brand should I choose?

Honestly, choosing a brand can affect your budget as well as features, so you should be careful about the brand you choose. You would know that Samsung and LG are the leaders in the television market but as I told you both of them have huge TV ranges as compared to other features.

I don’t wanna forget Sony and Panasonic because both of them are also leaders in TV making but the good thing is that they have smaller ranges. Toshiba, Sharp, and Philips are also on the list for making the best and budget-friendly TVs.
