The significant difference between digital marketing and network marketing is that digital marketing is any marketing that is done through the internet whereas network marketing is a direct selling technique that requires salespeople to sell the products.

The marketing world is huge, and it’s split into two parts; digital marketing and network marketing. Traditionalists believe in network marketing; on the other hand, modern marketers promote products via digital marketing.

What is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing is the practice of promoting products and services through digital channels. Channels are websites, social media platforms, SEO, mobile applications, emails, blogging platforms, and a few more. Small-mid-size businesses use digital marketing strategy templates to clearly define goals to acquire and retain customers.

In simple terms, digital marketing is advertising delivered through electronic devices.

What is Network Marketing?

Network marketing is a conventional marketing model that uses a network of people to promote or sell products. This marketing method relies on a network of distributors to increase the sale of the business.

There are three types of network marketing models including single-tier, two-tier, and multi-level. If you are thinking of investing in network marketing models, you should hire enthusiastic sales marketers who can effectively promote your products. If you have enthusiastic salespeople who can meet with people face-to-face, then network marketing is ideal for you.

Difference Between Digital Marketing and Network Marketing

Having spent time on both marketing methods, I’m somewhere in the middle. Both marketing segments are equally important, but their characteristics for promoting products are different. In this blog, we will see what makes digital marketing and network marketing fundamentally different.

1. Nature of Marketing

Digital marketing is adaptable by nature. Small, medium, and large enterprises can easily use digital marketing to promote products and services. If we talk about network marketing, it is not suitable for all companies because it requires more effort and time.

2. Online vs. Offline

Digital marketing is done through high electronic devices and the internet, whereas network marketing is a strategy to sell products through a network of people. Compared to offline marketing, running an online campaign is relatively affordable and easily catches the audience’s attention.

3. Workforce

Compared to network marketing, digital marketing requires fewer manpower. Network marketing depends on person-to-person sales; that’s why it needs more human resources than digital marketing.

4. Pull vs. Push Marketing

In digital marketing, we create several strategies to catch the customers’ attention, so it pulls marketing. In network marketing, we use a push marketing strategy to reach customers to sell the products.

5. Time and Efforts

Marketers can expect fast results from digital marketing. But, network marketing requires lots of effort and takes time to grow. Selling products through a network of people takes longer than selling products through digital marketing channels.

6. Learning

You can learn digital marketing by joining any institute and grow your skills by taking on small projects. The prerequisite to learning network marketing you need to be good in sales. Let’s face it; digital marketing is dynamic; you need to update your skills in order to run successful digital marketing campaigns. But, network marketing is static; it doesn’t run on trends, here you need to be perfect in communication, that’s all.

7. Customization

You can customize the digital marketing strategies as per your budget and business objectives. One can change the digital marketing plans or stop it midway if we do not get any results. But, customization is not possible in network marketing, and it’s very difficult to stop it.

8. Monitoring Results

There are numerous tools available on the internet to analyze the results of digital marketing. You cannot monitor the outcomes of network marketing so closely. There are so many advanced analytics tools out there in the market to analyze digital marketing strategies’ performance. Unfortunately, you have to analyze the network marketing efforts manually

9. Supply Chain

In network marketing, the supply chain of products is necessary. You need to show the products in real in front of customers when demonstrating their features and capabilities. There is no requirement for digital marketing.

10. Support

You can increase the significant growth of network marketing with the help of digital marketing. Network marketing cannot support your digital marketing efforts.

Final Say

To be successful in business, you need both marketing segments. One can help you gain online users; another one allows you to capture the traditional audience. You can use both these marketing segments more effectively by framing an excellent marketing strategy.

Whether you are using network marketing or digital marketing, you only get a high return on the investment from the marketing campaigns if your products and services are good.
