iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14

The most awaited launch of the year, the Apple Event, happened on the 12th of September, 2023, and brings the all-new iPhone 15 with the complete lineup. As soon as people saw the phone launched, everyone wondered what are the iPhone 15 unique features and how the iPhone 15 is different from the iPhone 14.

Obviously, there are many new features in iPhone 15 that the iPhone 14 doesn’t have. All those features are described here with the details so you can check them and conclude the difference between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14.

Let you know here, you will find the features comparison of iPhone 15 and 14, not of the complete series of both smartphones. All the variants share many other differences in terms of features. If you are looking for a particular iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 features comparison, you are are the right page.

iPhone 15 Features Compared To iPhone 14

Along with new color options, a new chipset, an upgraded camera setup, a USB Type C charging port, etc., there are many unique and new features in the iPhone 15 compared to the iPhone 14. Let’s find out one by one and explore how iPhone 15 is different from iPhone 14.

1. Dynamic Island

The first significant difference between iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 is the dynamic island. The iPhone 14 doesn’t have the Dynamic Island, and the iPhone 15 does. However, the upper model of iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone Pro Max come with the Dynamic Island.

It’s a small capsule-shaped display that replaced the top-notch iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, and it shows various notifications, call duration, and many other things. But this year, the company sent it with all the models of the iPhone 15 series.

2. Upgraded 48MP Camera

The upgraded 48MP camera is the second iPhone 15 unique feature. After a long time, this year, Apple upgraded the camera in the complete series. Last year launched iPhone 14 and 14 Plus had 12MP rear cameras, and the Pro and Pro Max had 48MP rear cameras.

Well, the newly launched iPhone 15 series all models come with a 48MP camera. Talking about the front camera, both phones have the same 12MP selfie camera. However, the iPhone 15 front camera is claimed to give better performance with upgraded HDR and next-generation portrait mode.

3. USB Type-C Charging Port

Here comes one of the most awaited new features of iPhone 15. Since the Type C was introduced in Android smartphones, the demand was urged to give it in the iPhones as well. But Apple, being Apple, was not accepting it.

Finally, after many controversies, Apple put the Type-C charging port in the iPhone 15 and all other variants of the 15 series. You can see it as one of the major differences between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14, as the Type C charging port is not available in the iPhone 14 and its lineup.

4. A16 Bionic Chip

Every year, with new launches, Apple upgrades the Chipset in the new models. Therefore, the iPhone 15 comes with the A16 Bionic Chip, which was introduced last year in Phone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

Whereas the iPhone 14 has A15 bionic chip which was introduced in iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max in 2021. However, both the chipsets, A16 and A15, have the 6 Core CPU, 5 Core GPU, and 16 Core Neural Engine.

Some Minor Differences Between iPhone 15 and iPhone 14

Along with the chipset, upgraded camera, and USB Type-C port, there are many other minor differences that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 share. And those differences are in terms of display size and dimensions.

The iPhone 15 has a more edge-to-edge display that increases the display size to 5.54 CM with 2556×1179 resolution, whereas the iPhone 14 has a 5.40 CM display with 2532×1170 resolution. Moreover, the dimensions of the iPhone 15 are  5.81×2.82×0.31 (H×W×D) with 171g weight. And the iPhone 14’s dimensions are 5.78*2.82*0.31 (H×W×D) with 172g weight.

One more difference between the iPhone 15 and 14 is about colour options. The iPhone 15 is launched with 5 colours, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black. The iPhone 14 has 6 colours Blue, Purple, Yellow, Midnight, Starlight, and Red.

Verdict Thoughts

You can see the iPhone 15 is coming with many new and upgraded features that make it different from last year’s launched iPhone 14. Thus, you can’t say the iPhone 15 is the same as the iPhone 14 as there are many changes and upgrades that make these two smartphones different.

But, you need to pay an extra 10,000 INR to get these upgraded features, as the iPhone 15 is priced at 79,990 INR and the iPhone 14 at 69,990 INR.

Meanwhile, after comparing the iPhone 15 with the iPhone 14 Pro, you can say the iPhone 15 is last year’s iPhone 14 Pro with a USB Type C charging port. If you compare the features of both of them, you will hardly find any difference in both smartphones.

And, when you see the price of the iPhone 14 Pro, it is available at 1,19,000 INR, which is much higher than the iPhone 15. The only compromise you have to make is the triple camera, you will not get the 12MP telephoto camera in the iPhone 15.
