So, finally, Snapchat has also come with the Live Location feature. After WhatsApp, it’s time for Snapchat to allow users to share their live location with friends and family members.
The number of users of Snapchat is increasing every day and so the app has now become very popular. For safety concerns, Snapchat also started allowing its users to share their live location with their Snapchat contacts for a duration of 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours.
This feature is similar to iPhone’s Find My application that allows you to share your live location with any of your selected friends or contacts saved in your phone.
Snapchat launched this feature for both Android and iOS users and is rolling out worldwide. So, regardless of which smartphone and mobile operating system you use and wherever around the globe you live, you can easily start sharing live location with your Snapchat friends from now.
Here’s How You Can Share Live Location with Friends on Snapchat
As mentioned earlier, this new feature to share live location on Snapchat is rolling out globally for both Android and iOS versions. Just follow these steps to share your live location with your Snapchat friends:
- Open the Snapchat app on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
- Go to the Chat section and tap on your friend’s profile picture with whom you want to share your live location.
- Scroll down to the Snap Map and look for the “Share My Live Location” feature.
- Tap on it and choose a duration. Make sure the location setting in your smartphone is set to “Always” for this feature to work.
That’s it. Now, your friend will see your real-time location for the duration you will choose. You can choose between 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours.
But, what if you want to stop/pause sharing the live location with the friend you have started sharing?
It’s all in your control to anytime start and pause sharing your live location with your friends on Snapchat. Anytime you can pause sharing the live location without even sending any notification to that friend with whom you were sharing the live location.
