Flipkart is one of the best online shopping websites in India trusted by millions of Indians. I’ve till now ordered many products with Flipkart and loved its services. The delivery time of receiving the products was average. Most of the time, it was very fast. But, this time something went wrong with my lastest order placed on Flipkart.
Product Was in Stock, Order Successfully Placed
Around 20 days back, I ordered a home gym set on Flipkart. This was not so sudden. I read everything about the product very well, it was of course in stock and therefore I placed the order.
Once, the order was successfully placed, I got the confirmation message and email. And, even I was able to track the product in the Flipkart app through Left Side Menu > Orders.
Cash on Delivery Was Not Available!
This is something I never cared about. I used to buy things online either through cash on delivery or online payments at the time of purchasing. But, we all know that with cash on delivery, you always be very calm down even if something goes wrong with your product or delivery because you know that your money is still safe.
When I ordered the product from Flipkart, there wasn’t Cash on Delivery applicable to that product so I chose to pay with my card and placed the order.
Expected Delivery Date; This Shocked Me!
If you ever bought something from Flipkart, you would have noticed that they give you an expected delivery date so that the user can keep calm and wait for the product but generally products are delivered far before the expected delivery date.
I ordered the product on 22nd May and they gave me the expected delivery date 7th June, but I thought it’s just expected so I should get the product within 3 to 5 days. But, I had to wait till 7th June. Well, they already gave me that expected date for delivery so I had to wait without any arguments.
Flipkart Tracking System Failed; Product Neither Shipped Nor Delivered
I am saying “Flipkart Tracking System Failed” because in their order tracking page, they were updating every single movement about the product like ‘packing your product’, ‘product is out from the warehouse’, ‘product is ready to ship’, ‘your product is shipped’, ‘product is about to reach your nearest hub’, ‘product is at your nearest hub’, but later I found that the product was never shipped to any of their delivery hubs.
The product tracking was stuck at ‘your product is at Bluedart, it will be delivered today’. When it stuck like this for a few days, after 7th June I contacted customer support to ask them to help me resolve my issue but they were like ‘please wait 24 hours’ every next day when I call them. And, unfortunately, nothing solved!
When I fed up with all this, I visited the Bluedart delivery office in my local to ask them about the product with its tracking ID. And what they told was something disgraceful. They said, “We didn’t receive this product at any of our hubs. When it will be received at our main hub, it will take 6 to 7 days to receive at this local hub and then it will be delivered to your door.”
It means even after the 20 days they were saying that it’s unable to track the product and it will still take at least 7 more days to be received at their local office of Bluedart courier service after receiving at their main hub. And when it wasn’t received at any of their hubs till then so nothing was sure about how much more days it will take actually.
Finally, I Had To Cancel the Order!
When, I was helpless, I decided to cancel the order and asked to refund my money back. They canceled my order after 20 days of no-delivery and when I asked about the refund, they said, “you will have to wait until the product was successfully received by the seller and it may take around 10 days for the process.”
This was so frustrating that I will have to wait for the money back until the seller receives the product that nobody is able to track. Neither the Flipkart nor the Bluedart Courier service. But, what could I do, they told me to wait for 10 days and I’m helplessly waiting.
I shared this incident not to spread any hatred about Flipkart as I’m a consistent user of Flipkart but, to tell Flipkart that they should understand how important a product and its delivery date can be for someone, and ask why this happened that they were neither able to correctly track the product nor deliver it even after 20 days of the order date. And also the customer support team was so helpless.
