Remove 404 Broken Links from Google Index
Go to Google Webmaster Tools and sign in with your Google account. Now, make sure that you’re added and verified the website whose URL you’re going to remove. If you haven’t verified the ownership, first add the website and verify ownership as instructed in Webmaster tools.
After the site is verified, look at your Webmaster tools homepage and click on the site whose URL you want to remove. On the site dashboard, navigate to Google Index > Remove URLs on the left-hand menu.
In the next screen click on the “Create a new removal request” button, enter the 404 broken URL that you would like to remove, and click on Continue.
Finally, in the last step, select the reason as Remove page from search engine results and cache then click on Submit request and it’s all.
Note: The URL removal tool is intended for pages that urgently need to be removed—for example, if they contain confidential data that was accidentally exposed. Using the tool for other purposes may cause problems for your site. Read more about this policy.
Google Recommends: If you have confidential or private content that you don’t want to appear in Google Search results, the simplest and most effective way to block private URLs from appearing is to store them in a password-protected directory on your site server. Googlebot and all other web crawlers are unable to access content in password-protected directories.
