Adding a social sharing plugin on your blog is now very important to encourage visitors to share your posts on social networks so that your article will be reached to more people. But do you know why I’m writing about the most lightweight social sharing plugin? This is because most of the social sharing plugins drastically reduce the website loading speed and as we know site loading speed is now Google’s ranking factor.
So, lightweight social sharing plugins wouldn’t affect your website loading speed and that’s why I consider using such types of plugins. However, it also took lots of time to find a good looking and lightweight social sharing plugin and I tried most of the free plugins meanwhile such as Shareaholic, Simple Share Buttons Adder, and even purchased a premium plugin named Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress but no one suited my need as all were making my site speed slow down.
So, Here’s My Favorite Lightweight Social Sharing Plugin
In the meantime I was found one more plugin called Floating Social Bar and as it was very simple so I wasn’t focus on it but yes I didn’t know that its simplicity is the evidence of its ethereality. As I saw the author of the plugin, it made my mood to install the plugin as the plugin was created by Syed Balkhi from WPBeginner.

So, after reading a few more descriptions of the plugin I installed it on my WordPress blog and I realized that it’s very easy to use and after configuring the settings I saw that it didn’t affect my website loading speed and it all was enough for me to love this plugin.
Setting Up Floating Social Bar WordPress Plugin
As I told you above that it was very easy to set up the plugin and beginners can also easily use this plugin even without needing any guidance.
So, let me tell you briefly how can you setup up this plugin!
After installing the plugin, just go to Settings > Floating Social Bar in your WordPress panel. Now, first of all you will have to drag and drop services you would like to enable as in the following picture.
Finally, do the following settings and save changes.
Just change the Twitter username with your own. So, after applying these settings, you will see that the Social sharing icons will be displayed below your each article and look like the following.
One other Lightweight Social Share Plugin I Found
Other than Floating Social Bar WordPress plugin, there is one more lightweight social sharing plugin I found which is DC Simple Share Buttons. It is a set of very simple social sharing buttons that loads pretty fast without any JavaScript and images.
Here’s the screenshot of DC Social Share Buttons:

Do the DC Simple Share Buttons look better than Floating Social Bar icons? I know! But still, I use the Floating Social Bar plugin to socialize the content I write. This is because the DC Simple Share Buttons plugin is lightweight though, it has nothing to configure and even you can’t make the social icon links open in a new tab, that’s why I decided to use Floating Social Bar WordPress plugin on this blog.
Note: This is an old post, so as an update I wanted to let users know that this time I use a premium social sharing plugin called Social Warfare. I hope you’ll like it.
Yes, of course. Social Warfare is one of the best social sharing plugins to use these days.
Is there any light weight working Social Sharing plugin available now?
This post is so packed with great stuff, that I had to make a note to come back later. I’m going to tackle a bunch of these. Some I already have, but perhaps not in the smartest way after reading this article. Thanks.
